We have a very enticing menu scheduled for us tomorrow night at Escondido Elks — Mediterranean chicken. True confession — when I was growing up in Arkansas the only way we knew how to cook chicken was to fry it — and even then it was only served on Sundays.
I do not think I have ever tasted Mediterranean chicken — but since Terry Hache is cooking Friday night — I am going to be first in line to try it.
Our bar will be open this Saturday morning at about 10:30am. Hamburgers will be served from 11:00am until 1:00pm.
Many of us will be going to Kit Carson Park in Escondido on Sunday to help celebrate Earth Day. Our Lodge is tasked with picking up trash. This is one way we can “ give back” something to the community. Everyone is invited— encouraged — to join us. Reservations are not necessary.
We will meet at the Lodge around 9:30am on Sunday morning and car pool to the Park.
Sunday — Earth Day — will be a festive occasion at the Park. We will be working but we should also have time to enjoy the occasion.
