Elks Care - Elks Share in Southern California
Several of you did not receive the first blast of this email.
This is our second attempt, Among other things — we had the menu wrong for Friday night — that menu has now been corrected.
We regret any inconvenience.

This is our schedule for this week at our Lodge:

Wednesday — September 22nd —

Lodge meeting starting at 7:00pm. All Elks are invited to attend. There will be an initiation of at least four new members. There will be snacks available — at about 5:30pm — consisting of stuffed peppers, veggies and a dessert.

Thursday — September 23rd —

Lodge opens at 4:00pm for game night. Light snacks will be available — the Thursday Night NFL game will be on TV.

Friday — September 24th —

(Note:THIS MENU HAS CHANGED!)
Lodge opens at 4:00pm. Terry Hache is our chef or the evening — her menu consists of  pot roast — mashed potatoes — glazed carrots — salad and a dessert of fruit crisp covered with ice cream. On Fridays we serve from 5:30pm until 7:00pm. Cost is $15.

Saturday — September 25th —

WHAT a TREAT!! One of our fellow Elks — Hector Parra — owns “Lourdes Mexican Restaurant” in downtown Escondido. Hector has offered to serve us his famous chicken soup for our lunch on Saturday. At no charge to the Lodge. We will be charging $10 for Hector’s famous chicken soup — plus a taco — for $10.  ALL proceeds will go to one of our Elk charities.

Our advice: Do not miss this — Hector’s chicken soup is legendary — and his chicken soup is certainly good for the soul — and body — and mind!)
We will be serving from 11:00am until 1:00pm on Saturday — hamburgers will not be available.

All proceeds from the lunch will be donated to one of our Lodge charities — any and all “tips” will also go to one of our Elk charities.

Our Lodge has a rental on Saturday night — a Quincenara.

Sunday — September 26th —

Our Lodge has chartered a bus to Petco Park for the Padres game against the Atlanta Braves. We will depart the Lodge at 11:30am — in time for the first pitch at 1:15pm –and return after the game. There will be snacks, beer and other beverages available on the bus. There are still tickets available — call the Lodge office. The cost — including round trip bus fare – snacks on the bus — and a choice reserved seat for the game — is $65.

Looking forward to seeing you at YOUR Lodge!

Harrison Beal,
Webmaster
