June 6, 1923 — Is the 79th anniversary of D-Day — Marked as the historic landing in France by our Allied armies.
Those of us who were at home — The Home Front – did not receive this exciting news
until sometime after our troops had landed — and even then the information was highly redacted.
But as a 13 year old kid I vividly recall the excitement and the subsequent radio address by our President FDR.
Please take some time to think about D-Day. There were about 150,000 allied troops that landed that day —
and maybe about 5,000 that were killed that day.
Thank God for all those who gave their lives that we might be free!
